"Good leadership is one of
the most valued of all human activities. To be
known as a good leader is a great accolade."
I recall reading the book executive
leadership prior to starting my first career.
After working in an environment where lack of
leadership forced me to develop my personal skills
I realized the immense need for direction. I feel
that leadership, is a responsibility to lead your
team to victory, but also to boost company wide
moral, and keep individuals on track.
Type X vs. Type Y
Both are right, both are wrong, and in the proper
situation a combination of both can create an
excellent means to motivate, and discipline to
keep the company's goals, and discipline of execution
in line of sight. The last two years in management
displayed how truly important it is to correct
your employees, and even more important than correction
is reward. I tie a great deal of reward to any
positive action. I establish an environment that
will lead with more rewards.
